The correct length for a cane or Aluminum walking stick  is from the acetabulum to the floor.
Measurement methods:
1. Wear normal shoes.
2. Let the patient's arms hang loosely at the sides of the body.

3. Measure the distance from the patient's wrist to the floor. This measurement should equal the distance from the patient's acetabulum to the floor.
4. Adjust the patient's cane or walker to this distance.
(1) Most walkers are adjusted by pressing the buttons on both sides and sliding the walker frame until the buttons lock in place.
(2) The wooden cane can be cut to a suitable size. The aluminum cane can be adjusted to the appropriate length through the adjustment button.
5. Put the patient's hand on the handle of the cane or walker. If the cane or walker is the right length, the elbows should be bent 20 to 30 degrees.
